The CELPIP Test is now officially accepted in Australia for visa purposes.

The journey to working and living in Australia just got easier with the CELPIP Test. With one test sitting, entirely taken on a computer, you can get the English language proficiency scores needed to meet your immigration goals. The CELPIP Test is officially accepted by the Australian Department of Home Affairs (DHA) for a number of visa streams, including the Temporary Skills Shortage (482), or Skills in Demand subclass. The 482 visa has 4 main types:

  • Core Skills Stream
    This visa enables employers to address labour shortages by bringing in skilled workers where employers can’t source an appropriately skilled Australian worker.

    • Stay up to 4 years, Hong Kong passport holders may stay up to 5 years.
  • Specialist Skills stream
    This visa enables employers to address labour shortages by bringing in skilled workers where employers can’t source an appropriately skilled Australian worker.

    • Stay up to 4 years, Hong Kong passport holders may stay up to 5 years.
  • Labour Agreement stream
    This visa is for skilled workers nominated by employers who have a Labour Agreement. It lets you live and work in Australia temporarily. Labour agreements are developed between the Australian Government (represented by the Department) and employers.

    • Stay up to a maximum of 4 years, depending on the terms in the labour agreement. Hong Kong passport holders may stay up to 5 years.
  • Subsequent entrant
    This visa is for family members of subclass 457 and subclass 482 visa holders who are applying separately for their SID visa and wish to join the primary subclass 457 or subclass 482 visa holder in Australia.

    • Stay for as long as your visa is valid.
