Westlock Libraries

The Community Adult Learning Program(CALP) in Westlock is under the umbrella of Westlock Libraries and part of a network of 80 community-based learning programs across Alberta. Our mission is to support adults within our community in achieving their learning and literacy objectives. Through a range of classes and personalized tutoring sessions, we address various areas including reading, writing, numeracy, digital skills, and Canadian Adult Education Credentials (CAEC) preparation. We provide tailored assistance to newcomers to Canada, offering English Language Learning support as well as preparation for exams such as IELTS and CELPIP. In addition, we have actively fostered connections with partner agencies within our community to enhance resources and support available to our learners.
CELPIP
When I took CELPIP, I found it was like speaking English in real life. You speak every day with your boss and with your friends, and the CELPIP Test represents those every-day, real-life language situations.

CELPIP
I had taken other English language proficiency before, and CELPIP was more relatable to me. All of the questions were situations I was familiar with from daily life, and were like conversations I had experienced personally.
